Bachauer the soloist is almost too wonderful for words. Listen to the bell-like sound of her rendition of the Romance from Chopin's E minor concerto. If pearls were bells, this is the sound they would make. Her expressive power is apparent in the recordings of the Rachmaninov and Brahms concerti. And the performances of the Beethoven G major and Emperor concerti are perfect.
And if it is sheer excitement you want, Bachauer the soloist's performances of the Saint-Saens G minor concerto and theBusoni arrangement of the Liszt Rapsodie Espagnole are indeed a marvels to behold.
