Felicitas Karrer studied with Friedrich Wührer. She performed with orchestras led by conductors of the stature of Hans Swarowsky, Robert Heger, Bernard Paumgartner (Mozarteum Orchestra), Ernst Märzendorfer (Radio Orchestra Beromünster), Paul van Kempen (Orchestra del Maggio Fiorentino), Felix Prohaska, and Eduard van Remoortel. And she made a number of recordings for the Remington label including the Beethoven "Emperor" which is not available to be heard here.
But the Rachmaninoff concerto and the Adagio from the Grieg concerto evidence a scintillating technique and a luscious tone. She plays with power and sensitivity. Her performance of the Rachmaninoff concerto is truly worthy of high praise.
Would that we had more of her playing to enjoy.
