On this page, Grigory Ginzburg plays Liszt including several beautiful transcriptions of songs by Schubert, and a number of his operatic reminiscences. In some of these, we get to see Ginzburz playing with a good view of his hands. Do not miss Liszt's La Campanella.
Grigory Ginzburg was celebrated for his singing legato and gorgeous tone. These are most apparent in the Liszt transcriptions of Schubert Lieder. I must confess that both performances of "Ständchen" bring tears to my eyes.
