Eileen Joyce plays Concerti including the final movement of the very famous performance of the Rachmaninoff 2nd used in the films Brief Encounter and The Seventh Veil.
We are treated to a recording of the Ireland concerto, a work I have always admired and that is deserving of being heard in the concert hall on this side of the ocean, and an unusual concert piece by Arthur Bliss composed for the 1946 film Men of two Worlds.
Following the concerted works below, as an added delight, is a recording of Eileen Joyce at the harpsichord performing the Bach D minor concerto.
on this page Eileen Joyce plays Concerti and chamber music. She was also a wonderful chamber musician as well as being a superlative soloist. The Arensky trio is a beautiful and well crafted piece as is much of the music by this under appreciated Russian romantic composer. And the Haydn trio, with which I confess I was unfamiliar, is a lovely work.
