LUGANSKY PLAYS RACHMANINOFF
Lugansky plays Rachmaninoff like a man to that manor born, with ease and discernment. He plays Rachmaninoff brilliantly. The complete Etudes-Tableaux (Op 33 n°4 eventually became Op 39 n°6) and Moments Musicaux are performed here and are among the best recordings I know. The Preludes and Moments Musicaux are also splendidly performed. And the Chopin and Corelli variations are a special treat.
